Title:- Backend Platform Engineer

Location:- Toronto ON (Hybrid- 4 day’s onsite) Canada.

Duration:- 12+ Months

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer with Platform Engineering expertise to build and enhance scalable backend systems, data pipelines, and developer platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data systems, backend services, and modern platform tools, with exposure to GenAI-driven applications and enterprise data ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs supporting enterprise platforms

Work with SQL and NoSQL databases for data storage, processing, and optimization

Build and manage data pipelines and ETL frameworks for large-scale data processing and migration

Integrate GenAI-based solutions (RAG, prompt engineering) into backend applications where applicable

Develop and maintain platform tooling using Backstage, including reusable templates and golden paths

Ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability across backend systems

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define backend architecture and solutions

Support debugging, performance tuning, and production issue resolution

Required Skills

Strong backend development experience with focus on data-centric applications

Hands-on experience with:

SQL and NoSQL databases

Enterprise ETL frameworks and data migration

Good understanding of GenAI platforms, RAG, prompt engineering concepts

Experience with Backstage (developer platforms), software templates, and golden paths

Strong understanding of system design, scalability, and performance optimization

Tools & Methodologies

Experience working with Jira, Confluence

Familiarity with Agile / SAFe frameworks

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments

Good communication and stakeholder interaction skills
